Danny Gottlieb is one of the most popular all-around drummers in jazz, rock and contemporary music. He was a founding member of The Pat Metheny Group, with which he toured and recorded for six years before he and bassist Mark Egan left to form the fusion group Elements. Danny has recorded and performed with artists in all styles, notably John McLaughlin, Gil Evans, Sting, Al DiMeola, David Byrne, Herbie hancock, Stan Getz, The Blues Brothers Band, Booker T. and the MGs and many others.

He has won multiple Grammies and magazine readers' polls, and continues to record extensively, both solo and in various ensembles.
