L.E. McCullough has been performing and teaching traditional Irish music on tinwhistle and flute since 1972. Author of the acclaimed instructional works 120 Favorite Irish Session Tunes and The Complete Irish Tinwhistle Tutor, he has won numerous music competitions in Ireland and America, and has recorded on 27 albums for Angel/EMI, Kicking Mule, Rounder, Bluezette and Laserlight. Dr. McCullough has composed music for broadcast commercials, theatre stages and film scores, including Ken Burns’ PBS seriesThe American West and the Warner Brothers film Michael Collins. He received his Ph.D. in ethnomusicology in 1978.
