As a member of the Klezmatics, Lisa Gutkin performs internationally and has recorded numerous CDs, including the Grammy-winning Wonder Wheel. She’s also appeared on over 100 recordings with folk, old time and Celtic artists and bands including Tommy Sands, John Whelan, Steve Cooney, and Natalie Merchant. She was a founder of New York’s “Downtown Celtic” group Whirligig and, as part of the Fast Folk Collective, appeared with Shawn Colvin, Richard Shindell, the Roches and many others. Her credits also include stints with the Demolition String Band and The Speakeasy String Quartet, playing and composing for theater and dance, including Sex & the City and the Conan O’Brien show, and a fellowship at the MacDowell Artist Colony.
