It drops the tape speed by half, thus doubling the time you get on the tape. Most people use this function to play back their tapes at half speed, but the recorder can be used this way as well. Remember, though, that the slower the speed the lower the sound quality will be. If it's just to document what your band is playing, though, that may not be of importance to you.<br><br>Anyone else have any thoughts about this machine?
