Is it safe to presume you are not related? At least John Fahey never "assassinated" you. First saw you with Artie at the Fillmore in 1970 or 71. Again the following week at CUNY [Tony Brown's first gig with you - he had the music in from of him] Many, many times since. Hopefully many, many, many more. It's not just the music, but the people playing it.

Dan Lubetsky

RE: The name: Homespun

Hhmm, shades of Jorma and Janis's "typewriter tape."

RE: The name: Homespun

That was the first series of lessons I ever recorded - 41 years ago! - and I have never wanted to change the feel that my living room mic picked up, with the kids, dog and other household things going on in the background. We did many of our early tapes in the house, but subsequently used studios which gained sonic clarity but lost some of that homey quality.

Thanks for asking about new lessons from Adam. He's been teaching guitar a lot, and playing frequent gigs, in the Bay Area and I was just talking to him about coming back to Woodstock for a visit, and to record another lesson or two for us. If it happens, it'll probably come out in the fall.

The name: Homespun

Hi Happy - I was listening to your "Complete Fingerpicking Guitar Method" last night and heard background voices on the song I was studying. They grew a bit louder and I could distinguish a child's voice. After a minute you explained the voice was your then 2 year old son, Adam. I burst out laughing at the wry sound of your voice explaining this, I detected a mixture of bemused exasperation and obvious pride. After a few minutes I realized just how appropriate the name Homespun is! :)! I have purchased Adam's 2 DVD's on Rock Guitar for my sons and am wondering if he has any other lessons planned?
