Hi Everyone,

As you may have noticed, I've been putting up a series of occasional "QuickLicks" and "Mini-Lessons" on our website, usually announced in our weekly emailings. (I've added a new one to the website today!) They can be found either in the NEWS & UPDATES section or in the video player to the right side of the screen. (You can scroll down to see several clips there.)

I wonder whether you're using them and have found them helpful. I plan on doing many more of these, and have several "in the can." These will not only be for guitar (although most of our customers are guitar players) but we'll also have some mandolin, banjo, fiddle and other instruments represented as well.

So let me know if these have been helpful, and what you'd like to see in the future. I hope these will spur some enthusiasm and keep you coming back to check on what's new here on the Homespun site. Keep your feedback coming! Thanks!!!

Musically yours,

Happy

I love those quick tips and lessons

I ran that Josh White jr clip over and over again... As well as the Pete Huttlinger clip...

Since I have been buried in viewing the Brownie DVD at home, I have not checked that one out..

Really like the quick lick lessons.  I use one of Steve Kaufman's a lot.  Would it be possible to include a pdf file of the tab that we could download?

Happy, BTW, has Homespun changed the format it uses for things like the quick lessons and lesson samples?  Used to, I could clikck on a lesson sample and it would play the whole thing seamlessly.  Nowadays, it'll play a little, stop, download some more, play a little, stop, download, play some more, etc., ad infinitum.  This happens on both my laptop and home pc.  I haven't changed any of the video settings on them so I was wondering if Homespun had changed something and I need to make a similar change on my computers?  Is anyone else experiencing this?

Bert,

I think you may need to update your Adobe flash player. The clips used to be in Windows Media player format, but now I beleive it's Flash.

Here is the link:

Be sure to uncheck the Google toolbar option unless you want more clutter on your internet browser..

Good Luck,

Thanks, Warren, that did the trick!!  I must have missed the memo when they switched over.

Bert,

Glad that worked. I didn't see anything about switching players either, but if you use the right mouse button and click over the middle of the player it will give you that info: just for future reference.

BTW, Happy I do enjoy the quick licks and lessons. I haven't used any of it in my playing as yet, but I keep adding these things to my bag of tricks. I know some time I will use some of it and I will dazzle my listeners. I used a lick of yours from the Blues Bag one time and the guitarists in the room were asking me to teach it to them and some of them are pros. So keep adding these tips to what I play and you make me look sooooo gooooooooood.

Thanks for all you do.

Yes thanks,  I downloaded the Tony Trischka lick.  I'd like to see more of them.
