I recently bought vol 3&4 of DB Cohen's blues piano series. I was delighted that these contain printed inserts . I've been frustrated by vol 1&2 not containing any transcriptions (yes, I know he's teaching improvisation, but it's so much more efficient for me to read the music rather than reviewing the DVD). I'm wondering if you've added the transcriptions since I bought the first two volumes (a number of years ago)? If so, is there a way I can get a copy?

Thanks,
Elby

We have not done this yet because David was fairly adamant about wanting you to learn by ear. We'll reconsider at some point if enough people ask, but I think the method works really well without the printed music.

Thanks for the feedback.

I just bought the same DVD's and got them yesterday. I was wondering the same thing. What is the best way to use the first two DVD's. Just watch him do a riff and pause the DVD, then try to memorize what he is doing so you can use it later?  I have only watched the first DVD.

I've just started with Disc One as well and was disappointed to not see at least some of the sheet music available. I agree with David in that most of the instruction does not need transcription. It would be nice to
have at least something to provide the framework. Hopefully more users
will contribute additional feedback on this topic.

Thanks for the feedback. We are reconsidering this and will try to get a music transcription book together in the coming months. I'll let you know via this Forum when we have it done.
