| Has anyone else started this DVD? Warren?? It begins with some real basics, so I think that those who have had Happy's Blues DVDs would enjoy this. Adam's teaching style is laid back, and easy going, which is great for me. (I hate when a teacher's ego 'gets in the way'. It's a highly personal and subjective thing, but most of us really enjoy some personality types and some don't. This was my first experience with Adam and I am enjoying it very much). He builds very slowly, starting with simplicity, and I am picking up some fun licks and using a metronome is helping me grow. Blues With a Flat Pick is a level 3, but I think that those who are beginning blues will enjoy the first part of the teaching without too much problem, and those more advanced always benefit from review, but will enjoy Adam's teaching on the 2nd half of the DVD. Hope everyone is well! Peter

| I gave up using a flatpick years ago. It was either flying out of my hands when they got sweaty or it fell inside the guitar. I use either totally bare fingers or occasionally use a modifed pro-pick thumbpick..... (I carved mine way down and shaped it according to how my thumb meets the string) Right now I am in the 1970's to 1980's singer songwriter mood... Cat Stevens, James Taylor, Harry Chapin, Jim Croce, Gordon Lightfoot, etc. Sorry my response isn't exactly to your question...but thought I'd chime in... BTW if you get a chance, check out Jerry Garcia with David Grisman music....WOW, I never knew Jerry could play the oldies & bluegrass so well Dave Stott

| Dave, I feel the same way about the pick, but am going through the DVD just with my fingers! Plenty to learn and I am finding that I can accomplish a lot with just my fingers... you might enjoy it. Pete
