I have struggled with the Celtic DVDs quite a bit over the past year...just not "clicking" for me.  I have had Artie's 3DVD set on DADGAD sitting on my shelf, but since his death, I haven't felt much like returning to it.

Someone suggested that my struggles with Celtic may be nothing more than a lack of familiarity with DADGAD, so I went back to Artie's series and am on DVD 3 now and really enjoying it.  His enthusiasm is very contagious and his urging to explore and experiment is paying dividends.

With a basic understanding of DADGAD, the Celtic DVDs are falling into place nicely, without much struggle.  Thanks to the one person who made that simple suggestion.  A few others felt that a mini course on DADGAD was not necessary, but I now stronly disagree.

The DADGAD series is easy to learn, fun to play, and really makes the player sound much more accomplished!  Artie's DVD didn't make me sad, as I thought....I found myself too much into his, "this is cool, you have to try this..." to be saddened.

He was, and continues to be via the magic of technology, a great teacher; every easy to learn from.

I highly recommend the series.  It's nice that I am able to keep one guitar in DADGAD all the time and I am not finding any confusion between fingering chords in DADGAD and Standard.
