We are off to a great start with our Instant Access download system! It has gone smoothly and easily for the most part, and customers who have downloaded DVDs this way have given us glowing reports. Here are a few excerpts:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am pleased to be one of your first download students. Having enjoyed your Mississippi John Hurt ,John Sebastion DVD for months I was ready for some more blues. Well this is no disapointment. It's just what I needed to get started. It looks great, the lesson progresses logically and I'm sure i'll learn a lot." - Andy R.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"It is much better than I expected. I can just click and there it is. Also, the technical department really helped me when I needed to ask a question and they replied quickly even on a weekend. It is very well done." - Ron M.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"I was delighted to see the new download system and very keen to try it out. The instructions were clear - the program downloaded and installed seamlessly and the catalog loaded in with one click. Purchasing a title from the catalog was simple and the download worked perfectly.

"I have two laptops which I use - one personal laptop for home and one for work. I had initiated the download process on the work laptop so that was fine but now I wanted to use the material on my home laptop to practice. I sent a quick email to the support team at leaping brain re how to use the material on my second laptop and my question was answered quickly and efficiently."

"I was impressed with the pricing. I had wanted Doc's flat-picking DVD but it was more expensive that most on your site so I held off waiting for a sale until I saw the great price on the instant download.

"All in all delighted that Homespun have done this for us. Absolutely addicted to your site and the content due to quality of the teachers and material." - Terry M.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is great. I hope you all keep these kinds of testimonials coming in to help us pass the word. Tell your friends, too.

Musically yours,

Happy

I really like the new download option, but is there any way to pause or backup a few seconds during the playing of a clip?

Sure, Doug,

There's a bar at the bottom of the window with the DVD image. You'll see a little speaker icon (volume) and then two vertical lines (pause) which then turn into an arrow (play). The little arrows on the right side move you forward to the next chapter point, or back to the previous one. Finally, the progress bar at the bottom can be dragged back and forth to "rewind" or "fast-forward" the video.

I hope this helps.

Some other things to look for: The little house symbol at the bottom brings you back to the catalog; the next one turns the video into a full screen image; the little note brings up the tab/music which you can view or print out; and "Discuss" links you to this Forum.

Glad you like the program!!!

Musically yours,

Happy

Those of you with a laptop would be able to take the lessons anywhere you want to watch them. Once they're downloaded you don't even need an internet connection. You can use them off-line because they're now on your hard drive.

Downloaded the new instant access Program, and am having audio problems with video samples, i.e. audio isn't working using VISTA with service pak 2. E mailed LEAPING BRAIN support several times, so they are informed and working on it. Same results so far. Hope to get it working properly soon as it seems to be a great idea, just not usuable as it is right now.

I really enjoy the Homespun Instant Access and I got Secrets of Successful Flatpicking. I found that the sheet music that comes with it might be wrong. Because it starts with "Informational Keys" and does not have any tunes in the DVD. Could anyone help to look into it?

I'm looking forward to seeing more DVDs to be added in the download.

It has been fixed. Thanks :-)

Any plan to add more DVDs to Homespun Instant Access?

Glad the problem was fixed. We're trying to stay on top of any little bugs in the system. Fortunately there have been very few.

In the next few days we'll be adding more than 20 new titles, so keep checking. When you launch your Instant Access Catalog you'll see that there's a new version to download. We're making constant improvements in the interface, too.

We're excited by the great comments we've been getting for this service.

Yes, I can very much understand that international customers would be happy about this. I am one of them.

But I haven't been able to figure out if the transcriptions/booklets are somehow available when we buy lessons this say. If I were going to try to learn Mississippi John Hurt by screen alone, I'd be wearing out the mouse/remote going back and looking and studying and never have time to get to the fretboard.

Best,
Daniel Ridings

Hi Daniel,

Every download comes with a .pdf file containing the tab/music booklet. It opens with just the click of a button. You can then view it on screen as you're watching the lesson or print it out.

Take a look at our Demo Movie and you'll clearly see how it all works. Thanks for your interest.
