| Tonight in the town of dryden I saw scott woods and he seemed steeped in old time canadian fiddle tunes especially his love for Don Messer. I also brought two of his cds but all I could think about how homespun tapes could use him to give some lessons on the study of don messer, who had his own radio show in eastern canada, and his own tv show. "Don Messer's Jubilee" from his website "Studied classical violin from age four with several instructors including Edouard Minevich who is now concertmaster with the Regina Symphony. Scott’s love of fiddling has been passed down through six generations of his family. Two-time winner of the Canadian Open Fiddle Contest, two-time winner of the Canadian Grand Masters Fiddling Championships, three-time winner of the Canadian Novelty Fiddle Championship, three-time winner of the Canadian Duet Fiddle Championship and Canadian Fiddle Entertainer of the Year." I just feel that someone with that much experience must have something to offer to homespun tapes and to future fiddle players.
