Bruce Molsky
Bruce Molsky is one of the most influential old-time fiddlers on the scene today. He's also a remarkable guitarist, banjoist, and singer who learned directly from renowned musicians Tommy Jarrell and Albert Hash, two of his mentors in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Thanks in part to his time spent with these old masters, Bruce has earned numerous awards at fiddle and banjo contests around the South, including: Galax, Virginia; Mount Airy, North Carolina; and the Appalachian String Band Festival in West Virginia.
Bruce has performed extensively at festivals and concert venues throughout the US and abroad. He is a highly sought-after fiddle and banjo teacher, and teaches his own intensive fiddle workshop program all over the United States. He is a regular instructor at Augusta Heritage Center, Jay Unger and Molly Mason's Ashokan Music Camp, and Alisdair Fraser's Valley of the Moon Scottish Fiddle Camp, among others. His most recent CDs, " Poor Man's Troubles" and " Lost Boy" are on Rounder Records.
