David Bennett Cohen
Although David Bennett Cohen is best know for his innovative keyboard playing as a member of the ‘60s rock band, Country Joe and the Fish, he is an equally accomplished guitar player who has been involved in numerous music scenes throughout his long and varied career. He has played and/or recorded with many top artists, including The Blues Project, Mick Taylor, The Luther Tucker Blues Band, Elvin Bishop, Hubert Sumlin, Melvin Van Peebles, Happy and Artie Traum, Eric Andersen, Tim Hardin, Norton Buffalo, Jerry Miller, Jimi Hendrix, Johnny Winter, Buddy Miles, John Cippolina, Huey Lewis, Michael Bloomfield, Bob Weir, John Kahn, Johnnie Johnson, Jimmy Vivino, Johnny B. Gayden, Sandra Feva and others.
David has played on Broadway in the hit show, “Rent,” and his distinctive piano style is featured on the Bill Perry Blues Band CD, “Crazy Kind of Life.” He is the author of numerous piano instruction books and videos for Homespun. In 2004 he toured nationally and overseas with Country Joe McDonald and other former members of his original hit band.
