Ernie Hawkins
Ernie Hawkins is an internationally known blues and ragtime guitarist whose main influence is Rev. Gary Davis, with whom he studied in the late '60s. He has also played with blues greats Son House, Mance Lipscomb, Fred McDowell, Jim Brewer and many others. Ernie's CDs include “Ragtime Signatures,” “Blues Advice,” “Bluesified” and “Mean Little Poodle,” which was named Editor's Choice by Acoustic Guitar Magazine. He has appeared on A Prairie Home Companion, Mountain Stage, Woodsongs Old-Time Radio Hour and at blues venues worldwide. Ernie has taught at most of the major guitar camps, and has made several instructional DVDs for Stefan Grossman's Guitar Workshop.
