Jim Weider
Jim Weider is a master of classic telecaster and traditional blues slide guitar techniques; one of a select group of musicians to have an endorsement from Fender®. He has performed or recorded with such well known artists as Bob Dylan, Graham Parker, Los Lobos, Robbie Dupree, Dr. John, Taj Mahal, Mavis Staples, Paul Butterfield, Scotty Moore & Keith Richards, Hot Tuna, Bob Weir/Rat Dog and Kim Wilson, among many others.
In 1983 Jim met actor/musician Levon Helm and soon became lead guitarist for The Band, replacing former member Robbie Robertson. He toured and recorded with this classic group for sixteen years, playing on stages throughout the world from President Clinton’s inauguration party to a historic concert at the Berlin Wall. Jim has appeared in commercials, film and TV soundtracks, and on numerous CDs. He has performed and recorded with The Band on several cable TV specials including "This Country's Rocking" and the "Bob Dylan Tribute" at Madison Square Garden, which was aired worldwide and is available on video and CD.
