Jim Wood
Jim Wood grew up in Middle Tennessee, the heart of one of the country's great traditional music scenes. With fourteen state championships (including five-time winner of the Tennessee State Fiddle Championship), Jim is among the most decorated contest fiddlers in history. His training in classical violin and viola, his studies in jazz theory at the Berklee College of Music and his years of studio work in Nashville have enhanced his approach to grassroots styles to give him a unique and authoritative position in the world of fiddling. Jim owns a recording studio, teaches privately and performs with his wife, guitarist and violinist Inge Wood.
