Peppino D'Agostino
Peppino D' Agostino was born in Messina, Sicily and grew up in Turin, but has been living in San Francisco for the past dozen or so years. He has been influenced by world music styles and a diversity of jazz, classical, flamenco and folk artists such as Leo Kottke, Paco de Lucia and Carlos Santana.
Peppino has released acclaimed albums on Acoustic Music Records and Mesa/Bluemoon, appears on numerous anthologies, and has composed music for feature films. Now a U.S. resident, his busy touring schedule has taken him from Carnegie Hall to Wolf Trap, as well as concert halls and festivals throughout Europe and the United States.
Acoustic Guitar Magazine described Peppino as "one of the most capable composers among fingerstyle guitarists," and Jazziz put him "in the same league as John Fahey, Leo Kottke, Doc Watson and John Renbourn." (His playing can be heard on Homespun's live concert video, "Muriel Anderson's All Star Guitar Night.")
