Pete Wernick
In a career that spans more than three decades, Pete Wernick (aka "Dr. Banjo") has had many important roles in bluegrass music. His years of touring and recording with Country Cooking and Hot Rize brought him worldwide attention as one of America's premier banjo players.
He's also a songwriter, author of best-selling banjo books and Homespun instruction videos, and a teacher whose workshops, banjo camps and traveling clinics have inspired learning players worldwide. Pete's current performance schedule includes festivals and concerts with his innovative part-jazz combo Flexigrass, duet appearances with his singer/guitarist wife Joan ("Dr. and Nurse Banjo") and occasional Hot Rize reunions. His various recordings are available from Sugar Hill, Rounder and Flying Fish Records.
