Rick Danko
The late Rick Danko was a singer, songwriter, guitarist, bassist and one of the founding members of The Band. From their celebrated role as Bob Dylan's first electric back-up group to "The Last Waltz" in 1976, The Band's compelling sound changed the direction of American popular music.
Rick also appeared on Robbie Robertson's solo debut album for Geffen Records, toured and recorded with Ringo Starr's All-Starr Band, and in 1990 appeared with The Band in the Berlin production of "The Wall." Rick continued with a successful solo career and other projects, in addition to recording and performing with The Band, until his untimely passing in December, 1999 at the age of 56.
