David Holt continues his excursion into traditional old-time clawhammer banjo, delving even deeper into the shadings and special techniques that give this style its drive, power and complexity. With his usual warmth and clear communication skills, he tackles the more advanced picking that will enable you to hold your own, whether playing solo or in a country dance band.

David continues his explanation of double-thumb rolls, brush rolls and other right hand moves that will give you all the notes you need to play some of the more complex melodic tunes in the old-time repertory. You'll also learn songs in new keys and chord positions, utilizing and building on all of the techniques you've learned on video 1.

Best of all, you'll add eleven great songs and instrumentals to your clawhammer repertoire: Shady Grove, Little Sadie, Reel 'n' Rock, Cumberland Gap, Sail Away Ladies, Forked Deer, Ragtime Annie, Billy In The Lowground, Arkansas Traveller, Rabbit in the Pea Patch and Way Down The Old Plank Road. All-in-all, this wonderful lesson will improve your skills and turn you into an advanced clawhammer banjoist.
