Anyone who loves to play Celtic music and wants to build repertoire and technique will need this four-hour workout series! Whether you play traditional Celtic instruments (fiddle, whistle, pipes, bouzouki, button accordion) or the more bluegrass-oriented ones (mandolin, guitar, banjo), these session tunes will help you develop your playing skills and will get you ready for the all-important jams with other players.

Steve has chosen fifty great tunes to add to your repertoire. Some may be familiar while others, taken directly from traditional players or piper transcriptions found in the vaults of the Dublin Archives, will be new to most players. Together they will help you form a solid tune list in this vital and ever-popular musical style.

The band plays each tune three times through, once at a moderate tempo and then again up to speed (metronome settings are included) to give you plenty of time to play along. The lead part is heard, isolated on the left stereo channel, for one chorus at each speed to enable you to learn the tune's melody. The accompanying book is written in standard music notation as well as both guitar tablature (including chord charts) and fiddle/mandolin tablature.

The jigs, double jigs, hornpipes, reels and polkas included are: Banish Misfortune, Behind The Haystack, Castle Kelly, Chief O'Neill's Favorite, The Cliffs Of Moher, Concertina, The Connaughtman's Rambles, Cook In The Kitchen, Cup Of Tea, Drowsy Maggie, The Earl's Chair, Father Kelly's, The Fermoy Lasses, Fisher's, Flowers Of Edinburgh, Fred Finn's, Geese In The Bog, Gillan's Apples, Gravel Walk, Haste To The Wedding, Irish Washerwoman, Jackie Coleman's, Johnnie Mickey's, Maid Behind The Bar, The Mason's Apron, Merrily Kiss The Quaker's Wife, Miss McLeod's, Miss Monaghan's, The Morning Star, Mug Of Brown Ale, Nine Points Of Roguery, Out Of The Ocean, Over The Moor To Maggie, Paddy On The Railroad, Pat Clancy's, Patsy Geary's, The Pigeon On The Gate, Pinch Of Snuff, The Pipe On The Hob, The Rakes Of Kildare, Silver Spear, The Silver Tip, Smash The Windows, The Soldier's Joy, The Star Of Munster, Temperance, Tobin's Favorite, The Walls Of Liscarroll, Wind That Shakes The Barley, The Wise Maid.
